Apply Bowlero Mesa - 3/7/21 This weekend’s event was at Bowlero Mesa and we had a great turnout! We would see 136 total entries (97 qualifying and 39 economy parlays), had 40 prize winners, a 1 in 3.4 cash ratio and paid out over $7,750.00 in main and side event prize funds. The players bowled on a very tough 38ft USBC Open Championships Team pattern that played very tight as the day went on. The key to this pattern was to leave makeable spares and not try to get into too much trouble. Those that were able to pick up their spares and get a few pins above average were able to advance to the quarterfinals. Read more about Bowlero Mesa - 3/7/21 AMF Union HIlls - 2/28/21 This weekend’s event was at AMF Union Hills and we had a nice turnout considering all the other events going on all over the Valley. This is the first time that we have been back to Union Hills since right before the Covid-19 pandemic started. So, it was good to be back in the area and we would draw 86 total entries (54 qualifying and 32 economy parlays), had 25 prize winners, a 1 in 3.44 cash ratio and paid out over $3,900.00 in main and side event prize funds. The players bowled on a 44ft London oil pattern that played a lot tighter on the fresh, but once the pattern broke down, scoring sky rocketed. The key to this pattern was to get your ball into a roll and play a little straighter along the track. Those that could do that were able to take advantage of the pattern. Read more about AMF Union HIlls - 2/28/21 AMF Mesa - 2/20/21 Our event this weekend was at AMF Mesa lanes and we were making our return after a two and a half year absence. We had 62 total entries (41 qualifying & 21 economy parlay) for 2 squads, with 20 prize winners and a 1 in 3.1 cash ratio. We paid out over $3,200 in main and side event prize funds. The players bowled on a pattern we don’t use often and it is a tough one to get used to. The PBA Badger, that’s 52 foot in length, which is the longest oil pattern used in competitive play and “hooking” your ball into the pocket isn’t really an option at the beginning. You have to get used to your ball fading back high flush until they start to break down a little bit. Those that could avoid leaving a split and making their spares were able to advance. Read more about AMF Mesa - 2/20/21 Bowlero Via Linda - 2/13/21 Our event this weekend was at Bowlero Via Linda and it was our first Saturday event of the season. We had a nice turnout with 75 total entries, with 49 qualifying entries and 26 economy parlay entries, and paying out over $4,000 in main and side event prize funds. The players bowled on a very soft 38ft Atlanta oil pattern that saw some of the highest scores that we’ve seen in a long while. It seemed that everyone had a good look and it would be a strike fest all day. Read more about Bowlero Via Linda - 2/13/21 AMF McRay - 1/31/21 Our event this weekend was at AMF McRay lanes and had a great turnout for a two squad event with 108 entries for the event which is about 54 bowlers per squad. We had 67 qualifying and 41 parlay entries with 29 total cashers, a 1 in 3.7 cash ratio and paid out over $5,100.00 in main and side event prize fund. The players bowled on the very difficult Kegel 40ft Red Square oil pattern. This is Kegel’s version of the original U.S. Open pattern or more commonly known as the PBA Bear oil pattern. It is a very flat oil pattern that leaves practically no room for error and puts precedence on shot making and spare shooting. Since it’s not an extremely long or short oil pattern, many players could play in different areas on the lane. Read more about AMF McRay - 1/31/21 AMF Tempe Village - 1/17/21 Our event this weekend was at AMF Tempe Village and we had a great turnout with 122 entries (81 qualifying and 41 economy parlays). We had 34 cashers, a 1 in 3.58 cash ratio and paid out over $8,400.00 in main and side event prize funds. The players bowled on the 45ft PBA Dragon oil pattern that played tough early on in the day, but scores would increase as the pattern broke down. Bowlers were able to play a variety of angles on the pattern as long as they were able to get their ball to read the lane and not overhook. The cut scores stayed around +70 for most of the day, which meant that you had to bowl about 15 pins over your average per game to qualify. Read more about AMF Tempe Village - 1/17/21 Cotton Bowl Lanes - 1/10/2021 This weekend’s event was at Cotton Bowl Lanes in Casa Grande for a 2-squad event and although the squads were limited, the interest was high. The event drew 65 total entries (58 qualifying and 7 economy parlay), had 22 cashers, a 1 in 2.95 cash ratio and paid out over $4,400.00 in main and side event prize funds. The players bowled on a 42ft Autobahn and some higher scores were bowled throughout the 2 squads but if it was played on the outside the ball, the ball did not come back in. The average cut scores for the weekend were high with bowlers needing to bowl above their average for all three games to make the cut. Read more about Cotton Bowl Lanes - 1/10/2021 Bowlero Kyrene - 1/3/2021 We kicked off the 2021 season with our first event this weekend at Bowlero Kyrene and we had a great turnout with 135 entries (97 qualifying and 38 economy parlays). We had 33 cashers, a 1 in 4.09 cash ratio and paid out over $7,725.00 in main and side event prize funds. The players bowled on the 41ft PBA Bear oil pattern that played pretty tricky for most of the day. There were some higher scores, but bowlers were able to play a variety of angles on the pattern.
