Apply AMF Mesa - 5/5/2024 Our event this weekend was at AMF Mesa, and with all the other events going on throughout the Valley we would have another good turnout in back-to-back weekends. We had 85 total entries (65 qualifying & 20 economy parlays) for 2 squads, with 23 prize winners and a 1 in 3.54 cash ratio, paying out over $5,400 in main and side event prize funds. The players bowled on the 43ft Kegel Deadman’s Curve oil pattern that played pretty tough for the qualifying squads. The pattern has an out of bounds if you get it too far towards the gutter early, but it looked like there was enough of a built-in track that the bowlers were able to overcome it. We would see some higher scores as bowlers could see the difference as they moved from pair to pair. Once the oil pattern started to break down in the later squads, then scores would start to pick up. It would take about +50 to qualify for the quarterfinals with bowlers needing to bowl 10-15 pins over their average per game to advance. Read more about AMF Mesa - 5/5/2024 Bowlero Avondale - 4/28/2024 Our event this weekend was out in the West Valley as we would have an early bird 2-squad tournament at Bowlero Avondale. It’s been a quite a few years since we have been here and we were lucky to be able to come back as the center has been recently renovated, which turned out great. We would see a total of 99 entries today (73 qualifying and 26 parlays) with a cash ratio of 1 in 3.41, paying out over $6,600.00 in main and side event prize funds. The bowlers played on the 39ft 2021 USBC Nationals Singles & Doubles oil pattern. The pattern played a bit tricky as you moved pair to pair. Also, there was a slight out of bounds if you got your ball just outside of the five board. Because the pattern was not very long or short, it allowed players to attack it from all angles. Read more about Bowlero Avondale - 4/28/2024 Bowlero Christown - 4/14/2024 Our event this weekend was at Bowlero Christown and we had a pretty good turnout considering the all the other tournaments going on throughout the Valley! We would see 85 total entries (61 qualifying and 24 economy parlays) with a cash ratio of 1 in 3.69 and paying out over $4,900 in main and side event prize funds. The bowlers played on a very difficult 34ft PBA Del Ballard oil pattern, that is a bit short and flat, and saw some pretty low-cut scores. The average cut to make it to the quarterfinals was just a bit over even, which meant that you just had to maintain your average to move on. The key this weekend was definitely to leave something makeable and pick up your spares! Read more about Bowlero Christown - 4/14/2024 Bowlero Mesa - 4/7/2024 Our event this weekend would kick off the 2024 Spring Quarterly Circuit (April – June). We would be at Bowlero Mesa for a 3-squad tournament. We would see a great turnout with 125 total entries (109 qualifying and 16 economy parlays) with a cash ratio of 1 in 3.67. We would pay out over $9,900 in main and side event prize funds. The bowlers would play on the 44ft PBA Billy Hardwick oil pattern that proved to be a bit tricky pair to pair. The pattern would play pretty true for the first couple of squads as bowlers were forced to play towards the middle of the pattern as the outside parts of the lane were cliffed. We would see cut scores remain around +50 for the day, so bowlers would need to average about 10 pins above average to advance to the quarterfinals. Read more about Bowlero Mesa - 4/7/2024 AMF McRay - 3/24/2024 This weekend we would be at AMF McRay for an early bird 2-squad event. This would be the last one of the 2024 Winter Quarterly Circuit (January to March) and we would have several bowlers vying for the top spot. Even with the earlier squad times we would see another good turnout with 118 total entries (85 qualifying and 33 economy parlays), 32 cashers and a 1 in 3.68 cash ratio, paying out over $6,800.00 in main and side event prize funds. The bowlers bowled on the 41ft PBA Bear oil pattern that had some lower scores compared to last few tournaments. The pattern allowed players to play from any angle, but the key was trying to make high quality shots and pick up your spares. The cut scores stayed around +30 for most of the day with bowlers only need to get 5-10 pins above their average each game to advance. Read more about AMF McRay - 3/24/2024 Bowlero Kyrene - 3/3/2024 This weekend we had a 3-squad tournament at Bowlero Mesa. We had a great turnout with 115 total entries (88 qualifying entries and 27 economy parlays entries). We had 30 cashers, a 1 in 3.83 cash ratio and paid out over $7,200.00 in main event and side event prize funds. The players bowled on the 48ft PBA Shark oil pattern that plays a bit differently as it is a long pattern in length but does not have a lot of volume in the middle. This creates a bit of an odd transition as the lanes start to dry out” in the front and middle parts of the lane which forces bowlers to move left (for righties) quickly. However, with most patterns you can still get the ball out towards to outside part of the lane and hook it back but with this pattern if you get it too far outside too early it would hit the out of bounds and not come back. Read more about Bowlero Kyrene - 3/3/2024 AMF Chandler - 2/18/2024 Our event this weekend would be at AMF Chandler lanes for a 3-squad standard event! With so many other tournaments going on throughout the Valley, we were lucky to have a great turnout. We would see 108 total entries (91 qualifying and 17 economy parlays), with 29 prize winners with a 1 in 3.75 cash ratio and we would pay out over $6,800 in main and side event prize funds. The players bowled on the 32ft PBA Wolf oil pattern that played tough to start but got a bit easier as the oil carried down the lanes. This pattern is one of the shortest patterns that are in use and the bowlers had to play a bit up the ditch to start.
